Abilities Define Us
Abilities define the individuals Oswego Industries trains, employs and supports. Everyone deserves a life of independence and fulfillment. Oswego Industries offers adults with disabilities the tools to achieve that in the form of employment support and day habilitation services. Based in Fulton, New York, Oswego Industries primarily serves the counties of Oswego, Onondaga, and Cayuga. The agency was founded by families and advocates in 1968 to provide vocational services and opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Our mission is to be a partner in the development of comprehensive community services designed to improve the quality of life for all people by providing the necessary support programs to enable individuals to grow with dignity and achieve their highest level of independence and self-fulfillment.
For nearly 50 years, our organization has grown and expanded its service provision to include career/employment support, day habilitation, community integration activities, as well as site-based employment.
Oswego Industries fosters business partnerships with a purpose, using its skilled workforce to perform custodial & janitorial services, contract sewing, assembly and packaging, warehousing and fulfillment, and document scanning and shredding services.
In 2019, the agency began producing BioThane® and web belts for retail sale under the name OI Wear.
Our Textiles Production Center creates apparel and other fabric-based goods for medical, government, and retail marketplaces. We have staff capable of product development, taking concepts from idea to design to prototype and, eventually, production.
Oswego Industries provides support to over 500 individuals and families annually, with a primary focus on individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Our services also accommodate individuals with physical disabilities and behavioral health needs.
These services include site- and community-based day habilitation and career development. Currently, we operate an 85,000-square-foot facility employing 100 individuals with disabilities. Our community integration employment program supports 65 individuals.
